WHOOPEE NEW YEAR!

The past year has been dedicated to creation. My loving husband and I have set out to create a production that we ourselves would want to see. The Whoopee Club is our labor of love and born from our love for one another and the need for a show that is not only fun, but celebrates romance, equality and true free love! We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to host the quintessential New Year's Eve celebration at Detroit's Foundation hotel inside the Apparatus Room which was once an old firehouse with rich Detroit history. We are transforming their space with decor reminiscent of the 1920's for our 20's themed event. This event will really take you back in time to an era where sexuality was becoming liberated, Young women in the 1920s were learning how to have fun in defiance of the old society rules and where starting to enter the workforce, this is when flappers where born. Women enjoyed drinking and smoking and traded in corsets for looser fitting attire that allowed them to dance the night away to jazz, and thats exactly what we are going to do this New Year's Eve!

Twenties attire is encouraged, we want to see men in tuxedos, and women dressed in their 20's best! We will have the talented Victor Vague there with his infamous tin-type Photo Booth so you can have a souvenir photo developed right before your very eyes! Because we believe in kicking back to the community $10 - $15 of every print will go to Planned Parenthood. My darling husband, Charlie Champagne will croon and make you swoon, we have the talented gentleman juggler himself Arty Dodger coming in from Texas, the sexiest, sophisticated sword swallower Sally Marvel and impressive magic by the talented AJ Sacco and of course the entire eventing will be backed by our very own jazz band The Whoopee Cushions lead by musical genius Joshua James. This is our dream finally coming true and I can't think of a better way to manifest Whoopee magic than to kick off the new year in my new giant champagne glass covered in glitter and champagne. I will be revamping my smoking cigar routine that placed the coveted crown of Miss Exotic World Queen of Burlesque on my head in 2010 at the Burlesque Hall of Fame A DECADE AGO! This is the perfect time to commemorate that incredible achievement and give a nod and gratitude to my past as I enter this new path. I am beyond excited to show off my new costume for this act by the talented Keith Magna of Bespoke 1701. Additionally I will be revamping my glitter champagne act "Champagne Charlie" with a new 20's inspired costume collaboration with my dear friend and talented designer Stein The Designer of Detroit. My husband is working on a new champagne glass prop to go out with a bang just before the countdown to the new year begins. I'll be spending the final moments of 2019 pouring bottle after bottle champagne from our generous sponsors, Laurent-Perrier following the countdown an iconic champagne tower pour will be executed by my dashing husband and every guest can raise a complimentary glass of Laurent-Perier to cheers to 2020 and all the wonderful abundance it will bring.
